ABDSP Interpretive Activities are Free and Open to the Public. All programs meet in front of the ABDSP Visitor Center unless otherwise stated.

11:00 a.m. Garden Talk - Desert Lavender 20 minutes repeating for 2 Hours
Join Volunteer Naturalist Laura Roderick for this introductory exploration of one of the fascinating  native herbs of the Desert. Learn how the Native Americans used Desert Lavender for remedies and  how modern science backs up their effectiveness.

6:30 p.m. Talk - What Makes the Moon Change? 30 Minutes
Come inside the Visitor Center for a demonstration of the reason we see the shape of the moon change each month and learn about the features that make the “Man in the Moon”.

7:00 p.m. Talk - The Moon Rises! 1 Hour
Watch the sky during the hour of the Moon’s rising. Bring out your lawn chair, binoculars and a red-filtered flashlight and meet on the Visitor Center Roof, the “Bridge,” for star and moon gazing. Dress warmly for welcoming this month’s moon.
