Join Volunteer Archaeologist and Naturalist Hank Barber for a fascinating look at how the Indians used plants for food, clothing, shelter and medicine. We’ll stop at a mesquite grove at Yaqui Well, then visit an important ancient Kumeyaay village site at Mine Wash to look at rock shelters and ceremonial features as well as hundreds of bedrock mortars used for milling food. We’ll visit an Ocotillo forest and have lunch along an ancient trail. We’ll also identify any wildflowers in bloom. Please bring lunch, hat, and ample water.
