September 23-30, 2012
In September, 21 Foundation members enjoyed a wonderful 8-day geology safari to view the natural resources and scenic attractions of two of America's greatest natural treasures: Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. The tour was led by retired Anza-Borrego Desert State Park ranger Paul Remeika, and hosted by program coordinator Joan Carskaddan.
We began the tour in Jackson Hole WY, traveled to West Yellowstone, and ended at Gardiner MT. We viewed herds of buffalo, elk and pronghorn, and learned the story behind the dynamic geology of Yellowstone and how it relates to Anza-Borrego. A great learning experience for all!
We will be repeating this tour in September 2013….watch for it on our website.
