$120 through the George's Camera Event Website
Join veteran nature and landscape photographers Ernie and Kati Cowan to explore some of the most scenic and secret places of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This tour is dedicated to increasing your understanding of the techniques that transforms your landscape photography into works of art, instead of just snapshots.
We begin by exploring the photographic challenges of narrow and winding slot canyons and practice proper exposure, lens selection, composition and the art of seeing. In the afternoon we will visit other areas of this magnificent desert landscape. You will expand your skills and capture the beauty of America’s largest state park. The spectacular location and challenging photographic opportunities will help you take your nature and landscape images to a new level.
The tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Borrego Springs and concludes in the evening. We will return to Borrego Springs for lunch at local restaurants.
This is a tour designed for all skill levels. Instructors will be there to help participants apply new techniques to improve their images, and to guide you to the best locations. The veteran photographer will be free to concentrate on the spectacular scenery, while the beginner can take advantage of individual instruction to improve their skills and capture WOW images.
A complete schedule and list of items you should bring will be emailed to tour participants prior to the event. There will also be an optional pre-trip meeting at 6:30 p.m. at George’s Camera, 7475 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, on Jan. 9. Participants will be able to view images of the areas we will visit and learn about what equipment to bring.
This exciting tour is a partnership program with the Anza-Borrego Foundation and George’s Camera of San Diego.
