If you enjoy photography and are fascinated by the night sky, this hands-on course is for you!  During the afternoon, students will discover how to use their camera to create stunning celestial portraits. After a dinner break - bring a picnic or visit a terrific local restaurant - we’ll return to the Visitor Center to practice shooting a variety of celestial phenomena.

Students should bring a camera (digital or film) that can be adjusted manually to take time exposures, a tripod, a remote control or cable release, a flashlight covered with red cellophane, and your camera’s user manual. Also bring plenty of water, a picnic dinner, a folding chair, a kneepad, warm clothing, and anything else that might make you comfortable. Participants should have good knowledge of their equipment.

Advance registration required.

This class is being offered on Saturday, January 30.  To register, click here.
