If you enjoy photography and are fascinated by the night sky, this hands-on course is for you!
During the afternoon, students will discover how to use their camera to create stunning celestial portraits. After a dinner break - bring a picnic or visit a terrific local restaurant - we’ll return to the Visitor Center to practice shooting a variety of celestial phenomena.

Students should bring a camera (digital or film) that can be adjusted manually to take time exposures, a tripod, a remote control or cable release, a flashlight covered with red cellophane, and your camera’s user manual. Also bring plenty of water, a picnic dinner, a folding chair, a kneepad, warm clothing, and anything else that might make you comfortable. Participants should have a good knowledge of their equipment.  Advance registration required.
