Location:
Meet at Bow Willow Primitive Campground

Visit past environments when southern Anza-Borrego hosted varied landscapes unlike that of today. It was a restless time of crustal extension and faulting, deepening the depositional basin of the Vallecito Badlands. Spectacularly exposed sedimentary outcroppings repleat with fossil resources highlight this on-site "drive back through time". Be prepared for short adventure hikes along Arroyo Tapiado and Arroyo Seco del Diablo. Bring adequate water, lunch, and a camera. 4WD vehicles are required.
