Come hike with the “Fantastic Four” team of experienced naturalists on the spectacular Wilson Trail along Pinyon Ridge for a day in the high desert. The trail starts at 4,000 feet and meanders over ridges and valleys among jojoba, pinyon pine, chamise, juniper, manzanita, sugar bush, yucca and cacti. We’ll set a leisurely pace with ample time to enjoy the panoramic views as well as the geology and vegetation of the area.

What a delightful way to escape the desert heat and explore a very special and seldom-visited part of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park!

This moderately strenuous hike will be approximately 6-8 miles round trip (an optional extension for hardy hikers adds about 3 miles). Wear sturdy hiking boots, pack a lunch, bring ample water and a hat.

4WD vehicles are needed, but carpooling will be encouraged to accommodate everyone.  Meet at ABDSP Visitor Center parking lot at 8:00 am. Let us know if you are coming from the coast and we can arrange to meet you in Ranchita.
