Talk: Tracks Tell Tales - 11:30 a.m.
45 minutes
Tracks tell the fascinating stories of the lives of our animal neighbors in the Anza Borrego Desert. Meet our Volunteer Tracker-Naturalist Karin Vickars and start to learn to read these tales of life -- and death -- in the desert. Meet in the Discovery Lab.

Talk: Tailgate Tour - 12:00 p.m.
1 Hour
Join the only CA state park pilot, Ranger Kelly McCague, for a special presentation about her responsibilities and see the plane up close. Program will meet and be conducted at the Borrego Springs Airport. Take Palm Canyon Drive east from Christmas Circle to S22. Airport on the left.

Hike: Discovering the Archeological History of the Morteros - 1:00 p.m.

Discover the hidden secrets of an ancient Native American village site. Join Volunteer Archeologist and Naturalist Sam Webb to explore both rock art and historic milling features. This 1.5 mile hike is over uneven terrain. Be sure to bring the usual water, hat, and sturdy footwear. Meet at the Morteros trailhead in Blair Valley, 3 miles off Highway S-2.

Walk: Welcome to the Desert - 1:30 p.m.
45 minutes
This easy garden walk will introduce you to the plants and animals of the desert. Meet with a staff Interpreter/Naturalist at the Visitor Center entrance.
