PCT Hikes along and through Anza-Borrego (Re-visited)

This mostly ascending 9-mile hike, which ends in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, offers views of beautiful, boulder-dotted hills and the lookout tower at the top of Hot Springs Mountain while passing through Coulter pines, oak trees, and chaparral. Altitude range is approx. 4100-5000 feet. All vehicles OK.

FOR EACH TRIP: Dress for changeable weather conditions and wear hiking boots and layered clothing. Bring snacks, lunch, water, extra water, sun protection, and all essentials. The pace will be moderate and steady, but not fast, with several rest stops to check out flowers, critters, and views. Each hike is one-way with a vehicle shuttle. Each hiker must be willing to participate in a shuttle by offering a ride in his/her vehicle and riding in someone else's vehicle, including on 6-19 miles of slow-going dirt roads. People may want to consider camping in the area the night before.
