Knowing when a particular scene or subject will produce a dramatic or high impact photograph, rather than just another snapshot, is one of the most important skills a photographer can develop. Known as photographic seeing, it is the true "art" part of photography. The objective of this half-day photo walk will be to learn and hone this skill. We will also discuss how the camera should be adjusted to best capture these images. Participants should be familiar with how their camera works, including the various modes, and should know how to set and use the camera on manual. You will benefit most from this walk if your camera is adjustable and has interchangeable lenses. Please bring a tripod, if available, and whatever equipment you normally carry on a trip. The walking will be easy - no more than 2 miles. The terrain is a mix of sandy wash, dramatic upthrust rocks, boulders, and desert shrubs. Four-wheel-drive not required. Limit: 12 people.
