Hawkwatch Lecture: What's Going on in Our Valley?

03/28/2009 - 2:00pm
03/28/2009 - 3:30pm
Location:
Community Room, Borrego Springs Public Library

The Borrego Valley Hawkwatch counts more spring Swainson's Hawks than any site in North America.  It is possible to see 500 hawks in one day!  What are they doing here?  Many of them arrive from thousands of miles away!

Come to the Borrego Springs Library community room to find out why the Borrego Valley is unique among Hawkwatch sites. What are we learning? Why are these magnificent birds stopping off here on their 7,000-mile journey from as far south as Argentina to prairies in the North? Hawkwatch organizer Hal Cohen will present a slide program summing up the season to date as well as a look at all species of hawks that are found in the valley.
