We will take an easy hike of about 3 miles through some of San Diego County's most scenic mountain terrain.  The 5,500-foot elevation means cooler air and the delightful smell of conifers. We will have a chance to see birds and wildlife and a variety of plant communities from big timber to open, grassy meadows. It's a scenic hike with good opportunities to take pictures and also learn about some of the interesting history and lore of the mountain.

This is a Hikes & Hops, so we will be providing some ice-cold craft brews from San Diego for your post-hike enjoyment! This Hikes & Hops will be featuring beer from Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits and Stone Brewing Co.

Meet: The group should meet in the Doane Valley Parking lot next to Doane Pond.

Bring: Hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, plenty of water, lunch, and anything else you need to be comfortable outside for a few hours.

Hiking Level: This will be an easy hike of about 3 miles with plenty of time to stop and rest if needed.

Hikes & Hops with Anza-Borrego Foundation

Good scenery, good beer, good company
Hikes & Hops connects people with two things in common -- a love of Anza-Borrego and craft beer. Hikes & Hops is a social hike series in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and a series of craft brewery happy hours throughout Southern California. Join us for a hike and a beer, or let us come to you for a brewery event!

**This event includes the consumption of alcohol. Families with children are welcome if they can keep up with the group or be carried. ABF may request photo ID for any participant who looks 30 and under. Only those over the age of 21 will be allowed to participate in the “hops” portion of the event. Be responsible when drinking. Camping in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is encouraged and there are several hotels in Borrego Springs. At the very least, please visit one of our Borrego Partner restaurants for a good meal before heading home.

Join our MeetUp group for upcoming events.

Thanks to Stone Brewing Co and Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits for donating the beer for this event!
