Invasive Plant Response Team Workday

Date:
Saturday, January 10, 2015 - 8:00am to 12:00pm

Join ABDSP and ABF as we work to give the native plants in Anza-Borrego a chance to grow and thrive!

January 10, February 14, March 14, and April 11
(And any other days the Park needs, with a 2-week lead time)
8am - 12pm

We will split into groups and work to remove invasive plants in different locations throughout Anza-Borrego.  Be prepared to walk through rough and uneven terrain- heavy pants and long-sleeve shirts are recommended. We will hold a quick training each day to help you recognize which plants are native vs invasive, so no prior experience is necessary.

Meet: 1 mile south of the intersection of S-2 and Hwy 78.  It is a little hard to see the access trail from the road, so Staff will make sure we’re parked there a little before the meeting time.  One way to find the spot quickly is to count the telephone wire poles… 23 poles from the Hwy 78/S-2 intersection heading south. Parking will be along the side of the road.

Bring: Plenty of water, snacks, long pants, long sleeves, work gloves if you have them (we have a limited number for volunteers to use), sturdy high-top boots, gaiters will be helpful if you have them, sun protection, lunch for on the way home and a smile for your fellow volunteers!

Our first workday is January 10th, hope to see you there!
