ABDSP Interpretive Activities

ABDSP Interpretive Activities are Free and Open to the Public. All programs meet in front of the ABDSP Visitor Center unless otherwise stated.

10:00 a.m. Walk - Desert Inspiration                                   1 Hour
Join Regina Reiter, Park Interpretive Specialist for a brief sampling of poetry and prose inspired by the desert. Then, be inspired yourself by a short, inspiring walk near the Visitor Center. You may even compose your own poem!  Meet in the Visitor Center Discovery Lab. Ages 10 and up.

2:00 p.m. – Junior Rangers                                     45 Minutes
Children ages 7-12 discover secrets of the desert environment.  Sign up at the Visitor Center.

4:00 p.m. Walk   - What’s A “Crepuscular” Animal?                    1 Hour
You probably know “Nocturnal” animals, maybe “Diurnal” ones. Walk with Regina Reiter, Park Interpretive Specialist, for an easy walk on the Trail to the Campground at dusk to explore the fascinating and surprisingly active hour between the dayshift and the nightshift of the animal world.  Meet in front of the Visitor Center.

7:30 p.m. – Campfire -  - Ranger Surprise                        1 Hour
Join Ranger Callan at the Borrego Palm Canyon Campfire Center for an evening campfire program.
