From their home at Mono Lake, they set out in search of water-related environmental and cultural intersections along the 38th parallel, encountering some of the world's most spectacular, yet threatened, landscapes in Japan, Korea, China, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Greece, Sicily, Spain, Portugal, the Azores Islands and the United States. Their book was published April 2013 by the University of California Press.
