Bikes & Brews up Glorieta Canyon

Saturday, April 2, 2016 - 9:00am to 2:00pm

Leader: Jim Roller and Gary Haldeman
$20 / $15 ABF Members

This ride will be a strenuous 15-mile mountain bike ride up Glorieta Canyon. We will meet at the BWD pump station off Borrego Springs Rd. then climb our way up Glorieta Canyon to the turn-a-round at the end of the road. After a break we will ride the dirt road east, past some amazing “Sky Art” and back to our cars at the end of the trail.  This ride has a lot of relatively steady uphill climbing but it’s all downhill from the top. As typical of our Borrego rides, there will be amazing vistas and a great ride in the back country of ABDSP.

Bring plenty of water, extra inter tubes, snacks.  We will end back at our cars for snacks and a bottle of great beer, included in your entry fee. Join Jim and Gary on one of their favorite rides.

Join us for a series of bicycle rides in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park this winter and spring with Jim Roller and Gary Haldeman. Our partner Bike Borrego will offer free bike rentals to any new ABF members; current ABF members receive $10 off rentals. Participants provide their own bike, helmet and any other necessary equipment.

Hikes & Hops and Bikes & Brews with Anza-Borrego Foundation
Good scenery, good beer, good company
Hikes & Hops and Bikes & Brews connect people with two things in common -- a love of Anza-Borrego and craft beer. Hikes & Hops is a social hike series in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, with Bikes & Brews being the same but with mountain and road bike rides, and a series of craft brewery happy hours throughout Southern California. Join us for a hike and a beer, a bike and a brew or let us come to you for a brewery event!

**This event includes the consumption of alcohol. Families with children are welcome if they can keep up with the group or be carried. ABF may request photo ID for any participant who looks 30 and under. Only those over the age of 21 will be allowed to participate in the “hops” portion of the event. Be responsible when drinking. Camping in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is encouraged and there are several hotels in Borrego Springs. At the very least, please visit one of our Borrego Partner restaurants for a good meal before heading home.

Join our MeetUp group for upcoming events.
