Introduction to Archaeology Class

Date:
Saturday, January 9, 2016 - 9:00am

Do you want to become a member of the Colorado Desert Archaeology Society? Do you want to volunteer in the archaeology lab or the BARC library? Do you want to take part in archaeological surveys in the park?

All these incredible opportunities are available to “citizen scientists” who want to play an active role in protecting, documenting and preserving the cultural resources of Anza Borrego Desert State Park and the other parks in the Colorado District.

Colorado Desert District Archaeologist Robin Connors will be teaching an Introduction to Archaeology class in January and February 2016. Upon completion of the course graduates will be eligible to participate in all archaeology activities that are planned.

There is no cost for this training; however, participants will be asked to volunteer 40 hours a year in the Colorado Desert District Archaeology Program to maintain active volunteer status.

Please let Robin Connors know if you wish to attend: robin.connors@parks.ca.gov. You can also contact Susan Gilliland, CDAS Chair, for additional information: shgilliland@mac.com.
