6:30 a.m. Walk – Discover Hidden Treasures on the Palm Canyon Trail                                     2 Hours

Join Volunteer Naturalist Terry Hunefeld for a slow, easy 2-hour nature walk up part of Palm Canyon. This “explore & discover” hike won’t make it all the way to the palm oasis, but you’ll have the option to continue on your own. We’ll look for signs of animals (bighorn sheep, coyote, bobcat, reptiles), learn how desert plants survive our intense summer heat and explore how Native Americans may have used them. Water, hat and hiking footwear required. Meet Terry at the Palm Canyon Trailhead where he will give you a free parking pass. Limited to 10 participants who must have pre-registered at the Visitor Center.
