Dr. Monte Marshall
Professor, Emeritus, of Geology and Geophysics, San Diego State University
Join the Anza-Borrego Desert Paleontology Society for their third annual talk by geologist Dr. Monte Marshall. This talk will continue the discussion of the birth and role of the San Andreas fault in California Geology. We will look specifically at the portion between the Sea of Cortez and the Transverse ranges. On Saturday, Monte will lead a field trip to the Painted Canyon in the Mecca Hills.
Monte will also be talking about how modern astronomy and space science has changed our understanding of the formation of the solar system.
It is sure to be an interesting talk, and the field trip will visit a world class geologic site.
