The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Paleontology Society will be offering a certification class for those interested in becoming paleontology volunteers. The class meets on Fridays, starting with the first class November 6, 2015.
This first class begins with a classroom session at the Visitor Center, 8 am—12 noon, featuring an Introduction to the Paleontology Society followed by the lecture “Introduction to the Anza-Borrego Desert” by Dr. Lyndon Murray. The afternoon will include an orientation to the Stout Paleontology Research Center, Laboratory, Library and Collection Hall.
The training class is free; paleontology volunteers are expected to contribute at least 80 hours of volunteer time each year.
If you, or someone you know, is interested, District Paleontologist Lyn Murray is the one to contact: 760-767-4974.
