Jim Roller & Gary Haldeman

$20 / $15 for ABF Members

Join Jim & Gary as they ride in celebration and memory of Ranger Steve Bier. Ranger Steve patrolled Fish Creek for a number of years before his passing in March of 2017. His enthusiasm and willingness to share his place in Anza-Borrego with fellow park employees, park partners, volunteers, students, and the world as a whole will be missed. We will ride through Fish Creek and into Loop Wash before continuing on all the way to Sandstone Canyon, making stops at several of the natural wonders Ranger Steve shared with so many people, before making our way back to the start. This route will be about 20 miles.

Riders are REQUIRED to adhere to the following:

-You must be wearing a helmet at all times
-You must have at least one spare tube, and all the tools necessary to fix a flat
-Your bike should be a mountain bike with a minimum of 26” x 2” tires (the fatter the better)
-You should bring plenty of snacks and more water than you think you will need

*If you do not come prepared with the above listed items, we reserve the right to turn you away to preserve the safety and enjoyment of the rest of the group.

Hikes & Hops and Bikes & Brews with Anza-Borrego Foundation

Good scenery, good beer, good company.
Hikes & Hops and Bikes & Brews connect people with two things in common — a love of Anza-Borrego and craft beer. Hikes & Hops is a social hike series in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, with Bikes & Brews being the same but with mountain and road bike rides.

**This event includes the consumption of alcohol. Families with children are welcome if they can keep up with the group or be carried. ABF may request photo ID for any participant who looks 30 and under. Only those over the age of 21 will be allowed to participate in the “hops” portion of the event. Be responsible when drinking. Camping in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is encouraged and there are several hotels in Borrego Springs. At the very least, please visit one of our Borrego Partner restaurants for a good meal before heading home.
