Just Before Sunset written by Lora L. Cline is the revised edition of The Kwaaymii: Reflections on a Lost Culture. The book is based almost solely on the contributions of Tom Lucas, the last member of the Kwaaymii tribe of San Diego County. The tribe passed along all they could about their customs and beliefs.

During the winter months the tribe traveled to what is now Anza-Borrego Desert State Park where they set up camp until summer, when they traveled back to the mountains. The Village Site along Mine Wash in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in a village site where the Kumeyaay lived for thousands of years. They made camp here until the late 1800’s.
