April Member Hike – Ghost Mountain Trail to Yaquitepec
The Ghost Mountain Trail leads to Yaquitepec, the homestead of the famous South family who lived atop Ghost Mountain in the 1930s. This short, uphill hike offers insight into both desert history and the resourcefulness of early desert dwellers. From the summit, you can explore the remnants of the South family’s adobe home and water system while taking in spectacular views of the surrounding desert and mountains. This trail offers a mix of cultural history and natural beauty, making it an interesting hike for those interested in human history in the desert. You must be a member to attend.
