Beginner’s 4WD/AWD Driving Tour
Join Anza-Borrego Foundation for our 2024 season’s second beginner-level 4WD/AWD adventure in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park! We will meet at the ABF STORE and then group-caravan and reassemble at the Blair Valley Campground main entrance at the vault toilets before starting the morning segment.
In the morning tour segment, participants will explore Blair Valley and Little Blair Valley including stops at:
- State Park Interpretive Kiosks
- Butterfield Overland Stage Route Historical Landmark
- Marshal South Home Trailhead
- Morteros Trailhead
- Anza-Borrego Pictographs Trailhead
- Little Blair Valley Cultural Preserve Area
- Dark Sky Astronomy Observation Areas
In the afternoon segment, Mark and Tim will offer the group several surprise adventures to finish up the driving tour. The group will select one of the surprise activities involving an additional driving tour and may include an opportunity to participate in a short hike at the end of the tour. Participants will venture along sandy dirt roads and washes to reach viewpoints and points of interest for their further exploration adventures.
Participants should bring adequate water and snacks/food for the tour and plan to spend short periods walking around at tour stops.
