Desert Bird Photography Two-day Workshop

Immerse yourself in the art of desert bird photography at our two-day workshop in Borrego Springs, led by an experienced bird photographer. You’ll learn the technical essentials of bird photography, from optimal camera settings for different scenarios to advanced composition techniques. Our instructor Sandeep Dhar will guide you through the fascinating world of desert birds, sharing knowledge on finding and photographing species. You’ll learn the techniques for working with challenging desert light and fieldcraft techniques that ensure both stunning images and the well-being of your subjects. Transform your learning into action with our small-group field session on day two in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, where 12 participants will receive personalized guidance during the magical desert morning hours. Whether you’re capturing the golden light on a Cactus Wren or freezing the moment a Black-throated Sparrow takes flight, you’ll leave with not just extraordinary images, but with the confidence and technical mastery to elevate your bird photography to new heights. Workshop participants will receive comprehensive materials including technical settings reference sheets, ethical bird photography guidelines, and post-workshop resources to support your continued growth as a bird photographer.
