Chill Hike: Culp Valley Overlook
Join us on a Chill Hike to the Culp Valley Overlook! This 2.1-mile loop trail starts in the mountains above Borrego Springs and gains approximately 200 ft in elevation. We’ll have the option to take two additional side routes to see Peña Springs and an overlook of Hellhole Canyon.
What this hike includes:
- A walk through higher elevation desert
- Expansive vistas of the Santa Rosa Mountains and Borrego Valley

- Anyone looking for a milder hike
- Anyone comfortable with hiking at higher elevation (approximately 3,300’)
Please bring:
- Sturdy hiking shoes
- Hiking poles (optional)
- Sun protection
- At least 2 liters of water
- Snacks
- Layers

Time: 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. (end time is approximate)
Location: Meet at the ABF office (587 Palm Canyon Dr. #122, Borrego Springs, CA 92004; in The Mall next to Kendall’s Café). We’ll then carpool/caravan to the trailhead.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be received at least 7 days before the event to receive a refund. Hikes may be cancelled due to unsafe weather, road conditions, or low attendance, with 24-hour notice if possible. If ABF cancels a hike, we will issue a full credit or refund.
