Community Weekly Weeding

Wednesday Weekly Weeding will occur every Wednesday through April 22. The goal of Wednesday Weekly Weeding is to remove Sahara mustard (Brassica tournefortii) and volutaria (Volutaria tubuliflora) from Park land for preservation purposes.

Participants meet in the parking lot just east of the community resource center food bank and Desert Pantry at 8:00 a.m. Participants will sign a waiver and safety form after a brief safety talk is given in the parking lot. After that, we caravan to the weeding site as a group. Anyone is welcome to join, but participants should be able to walk around the desert and pull Sahara mustard for at least three hours.

Participants are provided with work gloves, tools, bags, and other supplies to use for the day; however they can also bring their own tools if they want. Participants are expected to wear close-toed shoes, proper field attire (long sleeve clothing, hat, and sunscreen), and to bring their own snacks and water.
