Description:
Join the California Naturalist and Anza-Borrego: in Focus programs for a joint in-person lecture on the geology of San Diego County! Geologist Chuck Houser will present a “high altitude” overview of the geologic history of the region along with a summary of the geologic units in the county. He will also cover the historic and current gem mining in the Pala, Mesa Grande and other gem districts in the county. An opportunity for Q&A will follow the presentation.
This event serves as a foundation of knowledge for the California Naturalist in the Desert course.

About the Presenter:
Chuck Houser has over three decades of experience in the earth science industry. He is a registered geologist, certified engineering geologist and certified hydrogeologist with experience conducting investigations on lithological formations. His experience includes environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring, fault and landslide investigations, groundwater resource studies, geological mapping and geotechnical investigations.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation requests must be received seven days before the event if you wish to receive a refund. Refunds cannot be issued for cancellations made after the seven-day deadline. Please note that ABF may cancel a program due to inclement weather or low attendance. If ABF cancels a program, we will issue a full refund or credit.
