New Moon Night Hike
Experience the desert under its darkest skies during the new moon, when thousands of stars shine overhead. Join us for a peaceful nighttime hike and discover how the desert comes alive after sunset, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the landscape and an incredible canopy of stars.
What to Expect:
- Enjoy an easy-paced, guided hike under a sky full of stars and the Milky Way.
- Experience the peaceful sights and sounds of the desert at night while learning about the plants, animals, and natural history of the area.
- Hike approximately 2–3 miles roundtrip over natural desert terrain.
- Keep an eye out for nocturnal wildlife that may be active along the trail, including owls, bats, scorpions, and other desert creatures.
- The hike will be led by a Wilderness First Responder, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for participants of all ages.

Location: Meet at the ABF store at 587 Palm Canyon Dr. #110, Borrego Springs, CA 92004 (in The Mall next to Calico’s). From there we’ll carpool/caravan to the trailhead (location to be determined).
