Dr. L. Lee Grismer is the Director of Research and a Professor of Biology at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology studying geckos. Later, he earned a Ph.D. in biology studying the amphibians and reptiles of Baja California, Mexico, which resulted in his award-winning book “Amphibians and Reptiles of Baja California, Including Its Pacific Islands and the Islands in the Sea of Cortés”. Dr. Grismer has been working in Southeast Asia for the last 27 years and has written two additional books on the amphibians and reptiles of Malaysia. He has discovered and described nearly 200 species new to science and has over 500 publications. Additionally, his natural history photography is well-known worldwide.
