oin scientists and fellow nature enthusiasts for an exciting, hands-on weekend exploring the remarkable biodiversity of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. During this community BioBlitz, participants of all experience levels will work alongside researchers to discover, document, and celebrate the plants and animals that make this desert ecosystem so extraordinary.
Hosted in partnership with and generously sponsored by the University of California, Irvine Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center.
What to Expect
- Guided hikes and field surveys led by park scientists and expert partners
- Hands-on training using the free iNaturalist app to document plants, wildlife, and other organisms
- Daily gathering and check-in at the UCI Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center
- Opportunities to contribute valuable biodiversity data that supports ongoing conservation and scientific research
- Light refreshments provided each day

Location:
Meet each day at the UCI Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center (401 Tilting T Dr., Borrego Springs, CA 92004). From there, participants will carpool or caravan to field survey locations throughout Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
