Description

Join Anza-Borrego Foundation for a fun and informative online lecture and Q & A by one of our friends and close neighbors: The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert. We are honored to be joined by Dr. James Danoff-Burg, The Living Desert’s Director of Conservation, who will talk about the collaborative work involving habitat restoration in the Sonoran Desert. James will focus on the work done in and around Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Borrego Springs involving the invasive plant species (particularly Volutaria tubuliflora). He’ll discuss the process of surveying for invasive species, removing those invasives, and replacing them with native plants (“outplanting”). All of these actions can only be accomplished through the collaboration of multiple organizations and the help and participation of volunteers.

Join us for an evening of hope and habitat restoration and an inspirating conservation story between friends and collaborators. James is passionate about conservation and an engaging presenter. He has fabulous stories to share about local adventures in California as well as his work in conservation programs around the world. You won’t want to miss this night of fun and learning, all from the comfort of your own home, as James shares about the important conservation work of The Living Desert and it’s community. We’ll be sure to save time for Q and A from the audience.
