December Member Hike – Pictograph Trail
The Pictograph Trail is a short but fascinating hike that takes visitors to an ancient Kumeyaay pictograph site. The trail meanders through the rocky desert landscape, providing a glimpse of the desert’s geology and history. Along the way, we’ll pass through desert scrub with views of nearby Whale Peak. The trail ends at a boulder with well-preserved rock art. Nearby, Smuggler’s Canyon offers further exploration which if the group feels up to it, we can continue on to the overlook for a slightly longer hike.
